Mambo Italiano...at Hyatt Delhi



La Piazza at Hyatt Regency, used to be my favourite Italian destination in Delhi. A visit after long made me rethink my once crazed love for the place, though I'd still say it is one of the better options. 

It was  a pleasant experience with great choice, considering after the salad and dessert option, we did not even feel the need to order a main course as the salad bar had a whole meat section, along with a wide variety of cheese and pies, not to forget a pesto farfelle pasta that completed my wish list. The smoked fungi and tenderloin meatballs have my vote.

My only apprehension being that the enticing bread basket was not as fresh as it looked. And what killed the otherwise great meal was the tiramisu. The tiramisu was overly sweet and was more of a custard with coffee sprinkled atop.  Something you wouldn't expect from an Italian place known for its high standards.
I do remember my best memory of La Piazza being the wood fired pizzas. Maybe they continue to be their specialty which I will have to return for. Just as long as I remember to steer clear of the tiramisu.

On choosing a holiday destination like Moldova, you are first met with quizzical glances followed by wild guesses as to where could it be.   Not on the average traveler's radar, Moldova is sandwiched between Romania and Ukraine with its culture and traditions treading between Russian and Italian.
